Does my child need Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy can support your child to improve their independence and access daily activities that are challenging. This could be difficulties in relation to accessing education, engaging in play or improving their washing, dressing and organisation skills.
Occupational Therapists can:
 -Help children improve their co-ordination.
- Support their ability to organise sensations from the world around them and to regulate their alertness for focused tasks using sensory strategies.
-Provide advice and support to purchase equipment and tools, enabling your child to bath, use the toilet or sit at a desk more easily.
- Provide strategies and adapted techniques in order to help a child learn a sequence of tasks e.g. getting dressed, making a snack.
-Provide advice and strategies to support safe moving and handling.
